Guys, I’m sooooo tired. Do you feel me? I don’t know what it was this week that whooped me in the behind, but my goodness I’m exhausted! Maybe it’s this FRIGID Minnesota weather (and the worst isn’t even here yet!) and dark evenings. What do you do to help combat these winter blues and long work/life weeks? I’m desperately trying to battle my own grumpies with some self-care. Tonight I just wanted to pop online quick to share a few ways that I’ve been trying to get my body and mind back in order and would love to hear what has worked for you!
Working Out — Now folks, I haven’t worked out since I got pregnant with Ariana, so like 6 years ago! But it has felt amazing this week to dedicate just 30 minutes to get my body moving. As sore as it leaves me!
Quiet Time — I try to do my quiet time during nap hour in our home. I’ve picked up yet another craft to busy myself with and it’s nice to put on some music and just focus on, well, nothing for at least an hour.
Connect with Friends — The power of surrounding yourself with people that love you and understand you is HUGE ya’ll! I have a pretty small tribe, but my support system keeps me going every day. I’m not a huge phone chit-chatter except to a handful of family members, but I’m like many people out there that will drop a million texts or Facebook messages in a day to my peeps.
Self-Care — Tonight I stole away for a LONG hot shower. And let me tell you, it was a nice treat to not have intruders and to just relax for 5 minutes. Take care of yourself!
Disconnect — Okay, I know this is a little hypocritical coming from a blogger, Snapchatter, Instagrammie, texter, online shopper, Facebook hound, but there really is power in putting down the electronics! For junkies like me, even a few hours can feel liberating. A lot gets done around here, and I discover a lot of new music to keep me moving!
What’s keeping you from losing your last marble this week? These are just a few things that are helping me this week. Next week they might not cut it and I’ll need to sub one or two out, but that’s okay! For now, it’s Friday night, I’m sinking into my couch with a big glass of wine and rejoicing that nobody lost their shtuff on each other this week. Good look to ya’ll!
